Art Deco Stepped Pewter Vase
An Art Deco pewter vase made by Rio in Tiel, the Dutch pewter foundry. It rises from a small flared foot through three stepped rings and opens into a wide, softly flared mouth. It's stamped Zuiver Tin (Dutch for pure tin) with Rio Tiel and model number 094.
The pewter has darkened to a deep grey, with lighter patches where it has been handled. It holds a loose bunch of stems or dried branches well and looks just as good empty.
Height 16.5 cm, diameter 12.5 cm at the rim.
Condition: good vintage condition. Mottled patina and small surface marks consistent with age. No dents.
