centuries apart, at home together

to & fro | adverb — in constant movement; backward and forward.

to&fro began with a move. When I left Turkey for the Netherlands, I learned that a sense of home doesn't come with a space; it is built object by object, each one carrying its own memory, until a room becomes something like a personal museum. I founded the shop in 2023, out of that lesson.

I source across Europe and beyond, piece by piece, each chosen for how it will sit beside the others. I don't curate by era, but for contrast. Soft pieces next to hard, romantic art deco next to masculine MCM: worlds apart, at home together. In the end, we aren't one-dimensional, and our homes shouldn't be either — a home is not a showroom. The tension between objects is what makes it interesting.

These objects come from times when everyday things were made with care, and they wear their history openly.

Alongside the homeware, I assemble small numbers of one-of-a-kind necklaces and talismans from vintage beads found the same way. Each is made once and never repeated.

to&fro is for homes that tell their owner's story, not an era's.
